Today's viva for PhD

Today's viva for PhD of Lakshmi ma'am, made me learn, think and analyse alot of aspects and how people who we call tribes are deeply linked with nature and how empathetic they are and how they respect and respond besides being uneducated. When the speaker started to talk about her PhD thesis, she referred to how her paper would create a change in our perspective about the tribal  citizen of Kerala. The two tribes one is the paniya and other is Adiyas, she explained about their life and how they live and celebrate culture and their traditions.


There are two take away from the viva for PhD. The first and foremost is how western concepts can be applied in Indian context and she gave an example of how Daffodils can be linked to the poem  about a flower that is written in malayalam, she said before teaching Daffodils she asked the students to go through the poem about a flower written in Malayalam which made me think that Indian context can be applied to western concepts which make us compare and contrast both to have better understanding about the concepts of the poem with deeper analysis. 

The second take away is more personal because she just didn't get her Doctorate in English Literature but received human connection and positive people around her, the moment she thanked each one of them who had stood by her during her journey of PhD, she mentioned people and why she feels grateful to them, literally made me feel emotional and at the same time made me to learn a lesson of how literature can shape you personally, I was wondering how people can love without conditions when I saw her parents who were in happy tears and her proud husband clicking pics of her and her silent cry inside that she won what she had waiting for, made me to feel so happy for her and I was no way related to her but I saw my future in her and this was literally a motivation to me to purse PhD and stand there one day and say that I have achieved what I want, this women gave me strength to move forward and she motivated me without any connection which is a personal take away from her. 

Two beautiful lessons that I learnt, one is to develop professional and the other is to develop personally. Meet you in the next blog.

The Secret Santa 🎄🎁.

Today I am very excited, do you know why it's because of my secret Santa, who gave me alot memorable gift that can never be told in words, but still I attempt to say about it in my blog today.
